Starting 2015 on a High Note at Tia Chucha's Centro Cultural

Tia Chucha’s had the pleasure of having the young future leaders fill all the seats in the house for their first 2015 Open Mic hosted by Jeffery Martin. It was a night of laughter, tears, song and selfies. These young warriors from YMI (Young Men's Initiative) are on the road to becoming leaders that will be saving lives in their community of Cutler-Orosi and beyond. Everything is possible through the power of words!

Blog Talk Radio Strikes Back!

Happy New Year 2015!!!
The year has officially begun with a bang and we at Los Angeles Poet Society are thrilled to announce a new Blog Talk Radio show dedicated to poets, musicians, performers and other talented folks that have a special message to deliver. We call this new show The LAPS Radio Palette! Our artists' palette will showcase the beautiful diverse talents of the creatives of Los Angeles!

The weekly series, conducted by our very own Director of Outreach, Victor Sotomayor, will feature one artist at a time. Let the new year ring, with an interview with poetess, writer, musician and personal friend Magdalena Murillo Delgado!

If you'd like to have a listen here's the link:

The beauty of it all is that BTR episodes (archived) can be played anytime at your own leisure so you can sit back, close your eyes and push the play button to enjoy beautiful poetry, music, comedy, art, theater, you name it.

Los Angeles Poet Society is making a splash in 2015 already so let's keep the momentum going!
